Our
data centres are designed to provide the best possible operating environment
for your IT and network equipment. Our investment in critical infrastructure
gives you the piece of mind to concentrate on running
your business.
Equipped
with a wide range of state-of-the art equipment, our data centres are designed
to ensure the security and continued operation of your IT equipment. This
equipment includes:
A
physically separate energy centre houses the incoming electricity supply and
feeds power to the data centre. Mains switch boards housed in the energy centre
feed power to the UPS systems housed in the data centre. The fully redundant
UPS systems operating in N+1 configuration provide a continuous stable and
filtered power supply to our equipment. In case of a mains failure Two 2MVA diesel generators are able to support the entire
load of the data centre. Underground bulk fuel storage means the site has 7
days autonomy in the event of a mains failure.
The
data centre utilises a high capacity DX cooling system with roof mounted
chillers. Refrigerants used are non-ozone depleting. A Close control in room
air handling units feed air into the data centre at a constant 20 degrees C.
With full redundancy in the cooling system we can take out any one unit and
continue to maintain optimum operating temperatures. High capacity floor
grilles ensure sufficient air flow to cool racks of up to 4kW. All the racks
are laid out within the data centre using hot and cold aisles to optimise the
cooling effect and ensure that your equipment is not drawing hot air exhaust of
others.
Trained
security personnel maintain a 24/7/365 on site presence and carry out routine
security checks. External Cameras and motion sensors cover the exterior perimeter
of the data centre and are monitored by on site staff. Access to the data centre
is protected by a sophisticated proximity fob system meaning all access events
and movement within the data centre is logged and tracked. In addition security
at the rack level can be enhanced by the addition of digital locks to rack
doors
VESDA
(very early smoke detection apparatus) and conventional smoke alarms are
installed and continuously sample the air both above and below the data centre
floor. VESDA monitors the entire progression of a fire - easily detecting fire
long before smoke is visible and long before any other forms of detection. Fire
detection apparatus is connected to a dual stage alarm system giving engineers
full warning before activation of fire suppression systems. An FM200 fire suppression
system protects all installed equipment against fire. FM200 works by removing
heat energy from fire, not oxygen from the environment. FM200 absorbs heat from
the flame zone and interrupts the chemical chain reaction of the combustion
process.
